Accessibility statement

Fortunato De Angelis is committed to making the fortunato.dev website accessible. This voluntary statement follows the model set out by Directive (EU) 2016/2102 and the EN 301 549 technical standard, with reference to WCAG 2.2.

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Compliance status

This website complies with levels A and AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 and targets level AAA, which it meets for most applicable criteria: enhanced contrast (7:1), the ability to pause animations, full keyboard navigation support, text alternatives, semantic structure and announcements for assistive technologies.

Non-accessible content

The following AAA criteria may not be fully met:

  • 3.1.5 (Reading level) — some sections use an ironic tone and nerd-culture references that may require a reading ability above lower secondary level; the meaning remains clear from context.
  • 1.4.8 (Visual presentation) — some decorative headings are presented entirely in capital letters as a stylistic choice; the text remains readable with enhanced contrast.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 12 July 2026 based on a self-assessment carried out with manual checks (keyboard navigation, 200% zoom, reduced-motion preferences), a code review of semantics and ARIA attributes, and automated audit tools.

Feedback and contact

If you encounter accessibility barriers on this website, please write to legal@fortunato.dev: you will receive an answer within 30 days. Every report is welcome and helps make the site better for everyone.

Measures in place

Accessibility measures implemented include:

  • A "Skip to main content" link visible on focus.
  • Semantic structure with landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a consistent heading hierarchy.
  • Text/background contrast compliant with level AAA (7:1).
  • Respect for the system "reduce motion" preference and a button to pause all animations.
  • Auto-scrolling content that can be paused via a dedicated control, on hover and on focus.
  • Visible focus indicators and adequately sized interactive targets.
  • Screen reader labels and announcements (aria-label, aria-live) for language, cookie consent and external links.
  • An Italian/English language switcher with correct lang attributes.

Technologies and compatibility

The accessibility of this website relies on semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA. Pages are statically pre-rendered and designed to be compatible with recent versions of major browsers and with the most common assistive technologies.

Development follows screen reader compatibility practices (semantic structure, labels, status announcements); a systematic check with individual screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, Narrator) has not been completed yet. If you run into an issue with your assistive technology, your report is especially valuable.

This statement covers the fortunato.dev domain.
